But say you really do love that old hound dog, and you need to
get that smell off him right away.

Here’s a vet approved formula from Chemical and Engineering
News (developed by Paul Krebaum).

The formula is:

¼ cup baking soda (sodium bicarbonate)
1 teaspoon liquid soap

The bath should be followed with a tap water rinse.

SKUNKED PETS!
(Or what to do when your pet gets skunked!)
Now don't just hate those stinky critters and want to get rid of them. Be careful as skunks ARE sometimes carriers of rabies. BUT, (as
in everything in nature), there is a good side to these small creatures as well. The BENEFITS of Skunks are:

With their slow, waddling gait and bushy tail, these gentle mammals are delightful to see from a distance.  Also, Skunks are excellent at
rodent and insect control. In addition to mice, rats, and other things, they are also useful as their diet also includes things like black
widow spiders and scorpions. Also, being carrion eaters, they help keep roadways and neighborhoods clean. As you can see, although
you and your pet don't want a confrontation with one, they DO play an important role in keeping nature in balance - the natural way.
